AMD Releases New Ryzen Processors

Ryzen 7 and Ryzen 5 processors are based on the new “Zen” microarchitecture.  The “Zen” architecture is a new design from the ground up, with a better core engine, improved cache system and lower power consumption.  The new design will provide more than 52% improvement in instructions-per-clock over the last generation AMD core.

Computer MotherBoard

The “Zen” processors require newly designed motherboards with socket AM4. There are currently 3 available chipset options for the Ryzen family of processors.  Two of the chipsets, the X370 and B350, are unlocked for overclocking.
